About The Damned - Final Damnation:

In June 1988, seminal punks The Damned reformed their original 1976 line-up of Dave Vanian, Brian James, Captain Sensible and Rat Scabies for 2 sell-out shows at the infamous Town and Country Club in London's Kentish Town.
The first half of the set saw the original formation burn through tracks including New Rose and Neat, Neat, Neat from their first album Damned, Damned, Damned.
The second half of the set saw later members Roman Jugg and Bryn Merrick join the group (less Brian James) for some of their later smash hits including Love Song and Smash It Up. Brian James then rejoined the rest of the group for a finale of Looking at You and The Last Time. This live concert was recorded on the second night, Monday 13th June 1988 and was originally released on VHS. Now enjoy it as a 2 disc set including 1 x DVD and 1 x bonus Live CD! Unlike previous DVD releases this issue allows you to watch the concert in its entirety with no overdubs or narration. The gig will also be available to view on multiple platforms.
The Damned were the first punk band from the United Kingdom to release a single. That was New Rose in 1976 (the B-side of which was a speeded up version of The Beatles’ Help!). The band were also the first to release a studio album, Damned Damned Damned in 1977 (it peaked at number 34 and stayed in the charts for 10 weeks). And they were the first to tour the United States.
In April this year, 46 years after releasing their ground-breaking debut album, The Damned returned with their twelfth studio album Darkadelic. The band have announced a huge 12-date UK tour for December 2024 with the original line up of David Vanian, Captain Sensible, Rat Scabies and Paul Gray. They will play shows across the UK, opening in Newcastle and finishing up at London’s Roundhouse, a significant venue in their longstanding career having played there with The Troggs, Motorhead and The Adverts
